Great job! I love the visual- and I printed this out and tacked it to my wall, and am going to foward to a few of my fellow travellers who are also over 6″4′!
There are a number of complex aspects that go into designing a service and a brand. Fome companies that is creating an emotion, a loyalty, and a relationship. For others it is offering you rock bottom prices- and that is all.
FR will find itself squeezed a bit more, as will other carriers, as they try to re-define this space of creating a sustainable service that people will identify with and use more than once.
I know FR can offer the economics for passengers on a budget- but at the end of the day no one can sustain frowth of FRs kind on leisure traffic alone.
I do not think that it is too late for FR to step back and have a look at their service design- and see where they could put a little more of the humanity back into it.
More interesting to me is what will FR look like with O’Leary not at the helm? Will the culture shift, will the brand change, will his up-and-coming replacements be “Mini-Michaels”?
I will be keenly watching this space for your coverage of that interesting moment.
